FOR US....

... here in the UK the weather has been really unusual. The wind has continued to blow from Siberia .. and I SWEAR it has been blowing THROUGH not round all the bodies!!!

SO.. it is the time for lots of warm and chunky knitting to keep us (well more specifically ME!!) warm when we are forced out of the door x The dogs INSIST on still going out !! lol x

SO a warm scarf was needed for me .... for when I am out with them.. well mum got one so I had to join in didn't I?

I went outside to take pictures and it did this..

.. so I went back in!....

I used up scraps and made a big squishy one to ..

(When the weather conditions mean you do not go out much .. except to walk the dogs ...visit the parents and  do some minimal shopping ...!! .. there is time to knit x)

... this is not for walking the dogs ! lol x then I decided I needed a hat (with a pom-pom of course) .. and found some scraps for a Fair Isle try out..

I'm so happy with the way it came out that I feel more colour work will be on the cards this year... at some point. HOWEVER the next instalment of the shawl club arrived...

so I had to wind it up .. print off the pattern ..

......and get underway. The first 2 colours are close in colour and value and the designer has us alternating the balls .. no problem THEN the next 2 colours had more of a contrast ... I kept going BUT was not happy with the look of it...

I tried to convince my self I would be able to live with it .. NO. I have now undone it and started that section again .. much happier with it now x I am going to use the 2 yellows that are close in colour together and use the gold to finish .. not what the designer called for .. but I have to live with it ... and I have to be happy x

Hope you are keeping warm and safe x

The snow has all gone now .. wind still here but I live in hope it will go back to Siberia soon x I was in the garden this am. and found these beauties pushing up...

It WILL get warmer and nicer!! .... at some point..

My goodness I hope the Siberians take their weather back soon, you must be over the cold and wind by now. You are very productive with your knitting Diane, love the colours of the new collection. It was brave of you to go out to take the photos, think I would have stayed indoors behind the window!!

Those latest shawl yarn colors are beautiful. I agree with you about the value of the yarns being too close together and when it is your project. . .well. . . .you get to play with it as you see fit!!!! I too am ready for Spring!!!!!! We have had enough winter!

I didn’t realise the balls were variegated until I saw the shawl - I look forward to seeing the end result! The snow was a pain but nothing like the depth the news and weather warned us about!!!
